Welcome to Little Acorns Pre-School

Clandeboye Primary School. Bangor. Co. Down.
Little Acorns Pre-school has been established within Clandeboye Primary School since September 2000 and enjoys its own unit within the school. Formerly we were St. Andrews Playgroup. The unit comprises of two classrooms, an enclosed outside play area and an upstairs physical playroom.

Both classrooms are bright, well presented and resourced and within the two rooms the children are given the opportunity to experience an excellent variety of stimulating activities throughout each day. The outside play area and the physical playroom give the children the opportunity to enjoy physical play every day despite the weather. Having close links with the school, we also have access to many other facilities available within the school e.g.library, assembly hall, outside play areas and the beautiful grounds.

We are open 5 mornings
Our sessions are -

Mornings: 9.00am – 12.00noon Mon-Fri

Our staff are all highly qualified and very  experienced. Therefore, our aim is to provide a safe, caring, secure and stimulating environment, ensuring each child develops to their full potential in every aspect of their growth and development. To attain this, we plan, observe and evaluate, enabling us to provide a broad, balanced and varied curriculum tailored to enhance and stimulate the individual child’s learning. Offering an holistic approach to learning based on the Pre-school Curricular Guidance (NI).
Each child is assigned their own Key worker who will keep the parents/guardian informed throughout the year of their child’s progress and achievements.
Little Acorns is supported and assisted by a group of elected parents. We recognise and value the input of the parents, and believe that their involvement is vital to the success of the pre-school. Our policy is to foster positive relationships between parents, children and staff. To achieve this we strive to make our group accessible to all children and families from all sections of the local community.
We welcome all children in their pre-school year and younger children who are approaching their third birthday. Parents are very welcome to come and visit us, to meet our staff, have a look around our happy unit and experience at first hand, some of our varied activities.
